[BOARD GAME] The Wall

This resource was developed in the context of Folk Gaming, a Youth Exchange implemented in Blaubeuren, Germany (cofinanced by European Union) about using game design to document and transmit endagered traditions and folklore.

A two-player abstract game about building (and destroying) a wall.

Unlike other games of the project, this one was developed ‘mechanic-first’ , allowing further discussion on wether or not games with fixed mechanics can be ‘adapted’ to fit an existing narrative.

During the development of the game, we learned very important lessons about ‘ruleset complexity’, the power of assymetry and the difficulty in balancing two player games.
